About Us
Learning to understand
money well.
Cashwise was founded in Kuala Lumpur with one quiet intention — to make financial concepts genuinely accessible to people who were never taught them formally.
Back to HomeWhere Cashwise began
Cashwise opened its doors in Kuala Lumpur in 2018, born from a recognition that financial confidence is not a given — it is something that needs to be learned, and most people simply haven't had the opportunity to learn it well.
The founders, both with backgrounds in financial services and adult education, had spent years observing a recurring pattern: capable, thoughtful individuals making uncertain financial decisions — not from carelessness, but from a genuine lack of foundational understanding. The goal was never to give advice, but to create the conditions in which people could develop their own clarity.
Today, Cashwise operates three core programs from its centre on Jalan Raja Chulan. Each program reflects a particular stage or situation in a person's financial life — the beginner seeking a starting point, the saver wanting to understand what risk really means, and the parent navigating the financial responsibilities of raising a family in Malaysia.
Our approach has always been deliberate and patient. Like the paper folds our name and visual identity draw from, meaningful financial understanding takes careful, considered steps — not shortcuts.
"Financial understanding shouldn't depend on who you know or what school you attended."

What guides everything we do
Clarity above complexity
Financial topics are often presented in ways that feel deliberately complex. At Cashwise, we work hard to translate dense concepts into plain, honest language that people can actually use. We believe clarity is a form of respect.
Patience as a method
Good financial understanding takes time. We design our programs with this in mind — structuring content across multiple sessions, with space for questions, reflection, and consolidation rather than cramming everything into a single day.
Context matters
Financial life looks different depending on where you are in Malaysia, your family situation, your income pattern, and your cultural values. Our programs acknowledge this — they're designed around the real financial landscape Malaysians navigate every day.
Honesty about limitations
We are educators, not advisers. We're transparent about what our programs can and cannot do. We help people understand their options — the decisions themselves remain entirely theirs.
