SW

Siti Wati binti Razlan

Shah Alam · First Steps in Finance

"I've always felt embarrassed asking about money stuff because I felt like I should already know. The sessions at Cashwise were the first place I didn't feel that way. The facilitator explained things slowly and made sure nobody felt left behind."

Kelvin Heng Wei Sheng

Petaling Jaya · Risk Understanding

"The risk profiling exercise was genuinely eye-opening. I thought I had a fairly high tolerance for risk, but the structured exercise helped me see that my actual comfort level was quite different. That alone was worth the four sessions."

Norazlina binti Ibrahim

Ampang · Financial Planning for Parents

"We enrolled because we were completely confused about SSPN vs SSPN-i for our kids. The Parents program clarified that within the first two sessions and went much further — we left with an actual plan, not just information."

Rajendran s/o Krishnan

Subang Jaya · First Steps in Finance

"At 38, I finally understand how compound interest actually works — and why I've been making certain savings decisions badly for years. Nobody ever explained it this clearly. The group was small enough that the facilitator could check in with each of us."

Farah Yasmin binti Aziz

Cheras · Risk Understanding

"What I appreciated was that they never pushed anything. No products to buy, no upsells — just solid understanding of what risk actually means. I used to think 'just put it in ASB' was always the safest answer. Now I understand that depends entirely on your situation."

Lim Teck Wai

Setapak · Financial Planning for Parents

"My wife and I attended together. Having both of us on the same page about education savings and family insurance — after years of having slightly different assumptions — made a real difference to how we talk about money at home."

Zulaikha bt Amirudin

Bangsar · First Steps in Finance

"The beginner's guidebook is something I've genuinely kept on my desk. It's not flashy, but it's clear and practical. I've referred back to the budgeting section several times since the program ended. That kind of lasting usefulness is rare."

Muhammad Hafizuddin

Wangsa Maju · Risk Understanding

"I'm a junior executive saving a little each month but had no clear idea what to do with it beyond FD. The Risk Understanding program helped me understand the actual landscape of options and — more importantly — how to think about choosing between them."

Suraya bt Tajuddin

Klang · Financial Planning for Parents

"The session on teaching children about money was something I didn't even realise I needed until it happened. The age-appropriate suggestions were so specific and sensible. My eight-year-old now has her own little savings jar and knows why."

Case Studies

Three journeys, in more detail

AM

Ahmad Muzamir, 34 — Administrative Officer

First Steps in Finance · Kuala Lumpur

The Challenge

Ahmad had a stable income but no clear picture of where it was going each month. He had a savings account but no deliberate plan, and felt uncomfortable whenever conversations at work turned to financial topics.

The Program

Through First Steps in Finance, Ahmad worked through basic concepts systematically — from understanding how interest accumulates to creating a simple monthly budget framework. He joined a small group where questions were welcomed.

What Changed

Three months later, Ahmad had a monthly budget he actually follows, had opened a separate savings account for specific purposes, and had his first honest conversation with a bank about a loan he was considering. He says the vocabulary alone made that conversation different.

PS

Priya Subramaniam, 41 — Accountant

Investment Risk Understanding · Petaling Jaya

The Challenge

As an accountant, Priya was comfortable with numbers, but found investment terminology confusing and felt uncertain about whether her existing allocations actually matched her preferences — she'd largely followed a colleague's suggestion years earlier.

The Program

Investment Risk Understanding gave her a structured framework for thinking about risk types and helped her complete a thorough risk profiling exercise. Her profile report clarified something she had sensed but not articulated.

What Changed

Priya subsequently reviewed her existing investments with a licensed adviser, using language she now understood. She made one meaningful reallocation she felt genuinely comfortable with — and says the difference was knowing how to ask the right questions.

ZN

Zafirah & Norzairi, early 30s — Parents of two

Financial Planning for Parents · Ampang

The Challenge

With two children (ages 5 and 8) and a third on the way, the couple had been meaning to set up education savings for years but found the options confusing and hadn't agreed on where to start. They also differed on whether to prioritise schooling type or savings amount.

The Program

Financial Planning for Parents gave them a shared framework. The SSPN and SSPN-i session answered their most immediate question, while the budgeting template helped them see their actual family cash flow clearly — some parts of which surprised both of them.

What Changed

Within a month of completing the program, they had set up SSPN accounts for both children and established a family budget they revisit monthly. Zafirah says the children's money activity booklet sparked a conversation with their eight-year-old that she hadn't expected to happen so naturally.
